By combining the Danielson Group’s approach to professional learning, our five guiding principles, and the roadmap of the Framework for Teaching, we can empower teachers to be their best.

COLLECTIVE

All members of the school community share in a vision of instructional excellence and student success that guides their work.

ANCHORED

Opportunities for development are connected to a validated instructional framework, standards for students, and high-quality instructional materials.

COHERENT

Systems, structures, and practices support one another and address the needs and priorities identified by the school community.

SYMMETRICAL

Components of effective teaching and learning are as important for adult learners as they are for students.

GENERATIVE

The production and application of new knowledge and understanding leads to better outcomes for students.

What Is A Constructivist
Approach?

The Framework for Teaching and our professional learning opportunities are grounded in constructivism and a constructivist approach to learning.

Constructivism recognizes that, for all human beings — adults as well as children — it is the learner who does the learning. That is, people’s understanding of any concept depends entirely on their experience in deriving that concept for themselves.

Three Spheres Of Influence

Align Your Practice with Our Approach to Professional Learning & Student Success

Three spheres of influence, Reflective Practice, Collaborative Inquiry, and Instructional Coaching provide the organizing structures and processes for the five guiding principles to come to life and support deeper understanding and intentional, purposeful instructional decisions

When anchored intentionally and purposefully to a defined instructional vision, these three constructs maximize the possibilities for school improvement and teacher growth.
